Biography - Alison Lydon

Alison Lydon gained a BA (Hons) degree in Office Systems Management at Humberside. She began her career as a Systems Engineer with Allied Aims Ltd.  She then moved to Toyota UK and over sixteen years worked in a number of roles, beginning in company secretarial, moving onto legal and corporate services and then qualified as a Company Secretary. 

Whilst working at Toyota, Alison dealt with major service contracts such as printing, landscape and catering before becoming the Company Secretary and Section Manager for Corporate Planning.

On leaving Toyota in 2007, Alison worked for First Interim as a Consultant and one of her major contracts involved assisting a Sector Skills Council to clarify their strategic aims and set up a comprehensive three year plan and planning system.  This experience set Alison up for her move to Semta in 2008.

As well as the day to day governance and legal issues Alison’s key priorities at Semta are to improve corporate planning, and to ensure focus through KPIs and process improvements.  Alison successfully implemented management systems to ensure successful relicensing of Semta which was received in 2009.

Alison is a keen cyclist and enjoys horse-riding, walking and good food.  She has been chair and treasurer of her local Parent Teacher Association and is a member of the ETB audit committee.
