Biography - Helen Baker
Helen Baker is Director of Policy for
Semta, the Sector Skills Council for Science, Engineering and
Manufacturing Technologies. Prior to this role Helen
held the post of Semta Group HR Manager.
After graduating in Management Studies and
French, Helen started her career in Manufacturing with Michelin
Tyres plc as a Production and Engineering shift Manager, before
moving into Finance, and then HR. Her most recent role prior to
joining Semta was Senior Manager for Organisation Development at
Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK Ltd.
In her role as Policy Director, Helen
will ensure that the voice of the employer is clearly
understood and articulated to influence skills policy, and work
closely with other stakeholders to deliver employer skills
needs.
Helen is married with three young
children.
