Skills and the future of UK Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies

Each year, Sector Skills Councils produce reports highlighting the key issues affecting their sector and the skills implications for their employers. The aim of the Sector Skills Assessment is to secure for each sector the range and level of skills in its labour force that are necessary to achieve productivity at internationally competitive levels.

The purpose of these reports is to set out a detailed assessment of skills needs and current provision for Semta sectors, building on work undertaken previously in Sector Skills Agreements (SSAs). The 2009 summary and full report for Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies in the UK can be downloaded from the links below.  Additional reports for Engineering in each Nation are also available.
