As part of its provider validation process, the National Skills
Academy for Manufacturing offers Recognised Inservice Training for
Assessors (RITA) programmes. Designed to ensure that provider staff
are vocationally competent, RITA assesses trainers’ and assessors’
subject knowledge, offers training to fill identified gaps, and
support to gain a relevant NVQ. A key feature of the programme is
placements in industry to give lecturers and training staff
first-hand experience of how knowledge, skills and techniques are
applied in current practice. When your staff complete a RITA
programme they will have achieved the A1 assessor qualification, a
vocational qualification which recognises on-the-job competence and
up-to-date knowledge of industry working practices – not to mention
a huge confidence boost in their ability to deliver what companies
want.
In addition, the Academy develops high-quality
materials to support the delivery of underpinning knowledge and
trains providers in their use, offering consistency throughout the
country. Taking advantage of the Academy’s programmes not only
gives your staff the best possible development and tools to provide
an excellent employer-driven service, it also enables you to keep
abreast of skills issues and share best practice.
